Cats Into Grand Final



Defending champions the Connecticut Wildcats have qualified for their fifth straight Grand Final with a 42-18 win against instate rivals the New Haven Warriors in the American National Rugby League semifinals Friday night in New York.

The Cats led narrowly 22-18 at halftime but stepped on the gas in the second forty to punch their ticket to Jacksonville, FL, next weekend.

Warriors Host Connecticut Cup

July 27, 2007 – East Shore Park, New Haven Ct. – The New Haven Warriors were playing at home and keen to sew up a home game in the first round of AMNRL playoffs and sole possession of third place on the ladder. But they had a hearty task ahead of them in the reigning AMNRL Connecticut Wildcats, who had not lost since 2005. Once Were Warriors

Connecticut have maintained their lofty position atop the AMNRL ladder after overcoming a gallant Warriors outfit 40-24 at Jonathon Law High School on Saturday night. It is the fifth straight win for the Wildcats, who remain undefeated in their 2007 campaign.

O'Malveney Leads Connecticut's Rugby Team

New Haven was not yet threatening to creep back into this rugby game Saturday night at Law High School. The Connecticut Wildcats still had a sizeable lead in the second half. Then Damien O'Malveney made it insurmountable, in style. He cut through most of the Warriors defense, leaving black-shirted defenders all over the field for 60 yards, to score his second try (kind of like a football touchdown) of the game.
